His study is as he left it, with its impressive desk and old leather chair, and the App will give you a glimpse into his private world of Abbotsford.
One of the most famous houses in the world, Abbotsford was the home of Scotland’s most famous writer – Sir Walter Scott. Scott was a novelist, playwright and poet and he was one of the first English language authors to have an international career. His works, including Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, The Lady of the Lake and The Bride of Lammermoor, remain widely read around the world today. His writings and his love of Scottish history and mythology went on to provide the Victorian era with their view of Scotland and helped to promote Scotland around the world. Today most of the house is as Scott left it, looking as though he may return at any moment.
